Through my immersion in design study, I have learned a great deal in many areas. So many facets of design play critical roles in the final output of visual artifacts. Typography, visual thinking, structure, and the choice of media combine to convey the most complex or most simplistic messages. I feel my purpose as a designer is to continue the pursuit of knowledge and broaden my abilities in design, while educating others. Good design makes life easier and proves why literacy is so important to the future of our world. Creative work as an artist for me serves as a outlet and reprieve from the life that I live as a father, professor, and active citizen-participant by providing a strong sense of balance and perspective from the confluence of my experiences. Observations, whether visual, auditory, or tactile lend endless possibilities for thought, influence and inspiration. I love the human experience and experiment. Every moment is new. Like hearing your favorite song for the 200th time, a single nuance can alter your perception of the message or the delivery of the beat, all of which is dictated by your environment at that very time. My personal work offers a glimpse into the things that mentally register and stand out during my common, most mundane times in life.
